FAVOURITE RACECOURSE?: I had a particular fondness of Ally Pally back in the day.
LEAST FAVOURITE RACECOURSE?: Anything all-weather. Can’t stand the stuff. Racing’s not as good as it used to be.
WHICH RACE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO WIN?: The 2012 Chesham with our Sicties Icon filly Ex Solmorin
WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO MEET?: Someone of my own disposition. We are a dying breed and society is much the poorer for it.
FAVOURITE SPORTS?: Hunting, Shooting & Fishing on the estate.
LEAST FAVOURITE SPORTS?: Anything working class.
FAVOURITE FILM?: Clash of the Titans. It reminds me of Hannon and Channon in the Owners’ and Trainers’ bar at Salisbury back in 1978.
FAVOURITE BOOK?: Fly Fishing by JR Hartley
FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMME?: Anything to do with history. I was responsible for much of it. Except WW2. Awful business.
WHAT/WHO REALLY ANNOYS YOU?: Trespassers, young people, eczema.

WHAT IS THE BEST DAY OF YOUR RACING LIFE?: Epsom Derby day in 1923. I’d backed Papyrus ante-post for months. A fine ride by Donoghue saw me spend the summer in the South of France in company with Charlie Chaplin & Prime Minister Baldwin. We were trashed for months.
WHAT IS THE BEST BET YOU’VE EVER HAD?: See above.
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR SPECIALIST SUBJECT ON MASTERMIND?: The folly of youth.
FAVOURITE NIGHT OUT?: Don’t do them anymore.
FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION?: I used to like India, when we owned it.
